Welcome to Richmond Tennis Leagues
We are a group of local players that enjoy meeting other players and helping them start to play.
Learn More About Us.We are a community tennis association. We want to make recreational tennis easier by updating the community about organized play oppourtunities and friendly meet ups.

The Richmond Metro Area is blessed by a large number of tennis fanatics. Still, much the organized play is held at country clubs and racquet clubs.
Here are a few organizations that create adult league play oppourtunities.
Here at Richmond Tennis Leagues, we offer a spring weekend league and a summer evening league.
When do the leagues play?
Our spring league will play Saturday mornings at Hugunot Park starting at 9 am. Our Summer Weeknight league will play weeknights starting at 6 pm.
What's the Format
Best two of three sets with a ten point tiebreaker played in lieu of a third set.
What are the Pros and Cons?
The Richmond Racquet Leagues are very casual. The cost is low, just enough to cover the overhead. It's meant to help players connect. There are no ratings algoritms, no nationals, etc. But we want people that have no place to play to find other players of similar skills.

A Richmond stalwart. The first. Before USTA, there was Richmond Racquet League.
When does the League play?
The Richmond Racquet League stars in mid-April and runs thru June and plays on Saturday mornings.
What is the format?
The Richmond Racquet League has a unique format. Each match will play four 10 game singles prosets and three doubles matches. The winning team will need to win four matches.
What are the Pros and what are the Cons?
The Richmond Racquet League only plays on Saturday mornings. That often conflicts with family activities. But those that love it, love it. It's a lot of tennis in a concentrated timeframe. Its the only place where you can play a little singles, followed by a bit of doubles. It's also gender neutral. All genders are welcome.

The USTA by far offers the largest number of play oppourtunities.
When does the League play?
The USTA runs leagues year round.
What's the Format?
The best part about the USTA leagues is the variety. There are mens and womens teams that play both singles and doubles lines. There are mixed teams. Singles only teams. Something for every taste.
What are the Pros and Cons?
The USTA is expensive compared to other leagues. Typical seasons are eight matches. And team can be as large as 22. The USTA Leagues are also quite rigid. However, the USTA offers the most play opportunities year round with the widest variety of play.
